“Dirty Deeds, done dirt cheap!” AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. They have sold more than 200 million records worldwide, including 71.5 million in the United States alone. Their album “Back in Black” alone has sold an estimated 50 million units worldwide, making it the third highest-selling album by any artist, and the highest-selling album by any band. Producer Rick Rubin, who wrote an essay on the band for the Rolling Stone list, referred to AC/DC as “the greatest rock and roll band of all time.”                                                            

“Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” is the third studio album by AC/DC. The title track would become one of the band’s most famous songs, and the term “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” is an homage to the cartoon “Beany and Cecil,” which Angus watched when he was a child. The album artwork was designed by Aubrey Powell and Storm Thorgerson. “If you look at things these days, people have their faces blacked out in pictures, either because they don’t want to be seen for some strange proclivity or something that was unsavory about them or it had something to do with a police report. This hidden agenda plays an important role in that front cover.”
