High Voltage is actually the name of two AC/DC albums. Their 1975 debut album was releases Australia-only and was followed up by T.N.T. that same year. Recorded in ten days in the off-hours between gigs, the original version of High Voltage catalogs a group working to find their sound – with band members switching roles in an attempt to find their best combination.  

For their international debut, the band recombined their early hits into a new version of High Voltage, released in 1976. Including instant rock classics like “It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll),” “T.N.T.,” and the titular “High Voltage,” the combined album showed the wider range of the band’s abilities, all in one handy release, and may have been AC/DC’s first real step towards rock and roll fame.
