David Bowie T-Shirt

David Robert Jones, known professionally as David Bowie was an English singer-songwriter and actor. He chose Bowie after the Bowie knife because “it cuts both ways.” He was a leading figure in the music industry and has been considered by many to be one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. His career is marked by chaptered reinvention and visual presentation. During his lifetime, his record sales estimated at 140 million albums worldwide with ten platinum album certifications, eleven gold, and eight silver.

If you think of early David Bowie music, the album Hunky Dory (1971) initially comes to mind. This combination of art-rock and art-pop was an anthem for the early 70s, combining kitsch and class into a unique art form. Although early in his career, this is seen as one of his best albums of all time and also as what laid the foundation for his early career. From Hunky Dory came the Bowie legacy. The album art was a portrait inspired by Marlene Dietrich and features air brushwork and Bowie’s typical early style. This complemented the major pop art movements of the time and really sets the tone for his later visualization.

This fitted tee features a crew neck, set-in collar 1×1 Baby Rib and a tear away label. It has a slightly longer torso and it’s pre-washed to prevent shrinking. It’s made from 100% combed ring spun cotton, with the exception of Heather Grey, which is made from 90% cotton and 10% poly. Care Instructions: Machine wash cold. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low.
