With a career spanning over 50 years, David Bowie has remained a staple of art and glam rock. A leading figure in the music industry, Ziggy Stardust is considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century, he is acclaimed by critics and musicians, and he has sold an estimated 140 million albums worldwide. In the United States alone Bowie received five platinum and nine gold certifications and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.

Released in 1972, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders of Mars debuted the stage character Ziggy Stardust – crafted by the legendary David Bowie – alongside his backing band, re-christened The Spiders of Mars. Born out of songs first imagined while recording 1971’s Hunky Dory, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars ended up as a sort of loose concept album, detailing the misadventures of alien rocker Ziggy Stardust. Opening with the stage-setting “Five Years,” the album details an Earth with five years left – and the bisexual alien savior who has come with a message of hope for the remaining human civilization. Through tracks like “Moonage Daydream,” “Starman,” and “Suffragette City,” Bowie detailed a world rebuilt by the power of glam rock. Bowie’s message of hope was preserved by the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry in 2017.

This fitted tee features a crew neck, set-in collar 1×1 Baby Rib and a tear away label. It has a slightly longer torso and it’s pre-washed to prevent shrinking. It’s made from 100% combed ring spun cotton, with the exception of Heather Grey, which is made from 90% cotton and 10% poly. Care Instructions: Machine wash cold. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low.
